Catch Harlan Glenn's new TV show "Battle Rats: Iwo Jima," a one-hour pilot for a proposed series, this month on the Military Channel. I've been fortunate to work with Harlan on a number of TV programs over the years, and it's thrilling to see his new show come together. Congratulations Harlan! Here's a trailer for the show:
I saw your piece on Iwo, outstanding. Take 10 days next time. ;-)
BTW I was a 03 in Nam, we were at a place called the meat grinder by us grunts. Little hill called Con Thien, not as much press as Khe Sahn but inch for inch we took more incoming by far, plus had a couple ground attacks. Love to see a piece on it.

Seeing Battle Rats at Iwo Jima makes me want to see you go to Metz, France(formerly Germany)to show they defences that gave Patton so much trouble.

Good show. Reminds me of PacificWrecks .org or .com...and projecthomecoming.org (there are 80,000 Missing American Service Personnel worldwide. Less than 1 in 1,000 are recovered each year.)
I'd like to see the show go to Okinawa...last battle of the war...my great uncle, Captain Perkins of the Army Air Forces, was shot down there while flying artillery liaison in a U.S. Marines Avenger. The three men in that Avenger were never recovered. Capt. Perkins' name now appears on the Wall of Honor at the National Cemetery of the Pacific for those whose remains were deemed unrecoverable.

You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. Do you agree?

I enjoyed the Iwo program and hope it continues.
Just hope that the US Army gets credit that it deserves.
Too many programs are not accurate and only mention the Marines as the wonder force that conquered the Pacific Theater.
Funny, as my cousin must have come down with malaria while hanging out with the Aussies.
Not!!!!

Dear Mr. Duffin, I saw your program on Iwo Jima and thought you might want to interview a real Iwo Tunnel Rat. He was a former Marine Raider and his story when he told it to me was just unbelievable. Pure guts, but seeing him, you would think of him as just a gentle fellow. He was there from day one and only yards away when Basilone got hit. He was there thru the end. His name is Mr. Combee of Combee Electric, 1619 E. Holt Blvd., Ontario, Calif. Phone (909) 983-2238. I recommend that you take the time to interview him.
